These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →
Taste & Aroma Profile

The aroma is earthy and piney with citrus, plus spice, wood and a light floral sweetness — pungent enough that one grower’s jars “reek of grapefruit with a hint of sharp cheddar”.
About AK 47
Genetics & strain profile
AK-47 was released by Serious Seeds in Amsterdam in 1992, built from Colombian, Mexican and Thai sativas crossed with an Afghan indica, and went on to win more than a dozen Cannabis Cup awards. Our AK-47 feminized seeds are our own cut of that lineage: a 65% sativa hybrid with 19 to 22% THC and low CBD, known for strong resin production, a classic earthy-citrus flavour, and growing that is easy enough for beginners and rewarding enough for growers with twenty years of experience.
Strain names are not protected, so AK-47 from another seed bank is a different plant. Everything on this page describes our own seeds.
How AK-47 grows
We rate AK-47 easy, and growers on this page agree: “very easy to grow”, “a non-fussy feeder”, “clones very easily”. Indoors it flowers in 8 to 9 weeks and yields 400 to 600 g/m² under good light. It stretches, so top it and use a net.
Outdoors it is typically ready from mid to late October with up to 500 g per plant — a figure Ontario growers beat regularly: reports on this page include 6 to 7 foot plants, 1.5 lb and 2.5 lb of dried bud from single plants in full sun. It responds well to topping and LST, and it needs spacing and airflow, since one grower saw some powdery mildew in a humid season. The mid-to-late October finish is the thing to plan around in Quebec and the Maritimes: start early, pick a sunny spot, and be ready to harvest a little early if the weather turns.
Taste, aroma and effect
The aroma is earthy and piney with citrus, plus spice, wood and a light floral sweetness — pungent enough that one grower’s jars “reek of grapefruit with a hint of sharp cheddar”. It smokes like old-school Amsterdam weed, with a fruity, lemony taste when vaporized. The effect is uplifting, euphoric and mood-lifting at first, then relaxing in the body: energizing and relaxing at the same time, as a Quebec grower put it. At 19 to 22% THC it is strong without being overwhelming.

Planted a couple of these in the spring and they both absolutely thrived. One of them was my tallest plant this year at well over 7 feet tall. Pretty smelly while it was growing.
VERY aromatic when dried as well. My jars absolutely reek of grapefruit with a hint of sharp cheddar. Endless orange hairs and sticky green bud.
Smokes like old school weed. Mine has gotta be 20% thc at the most, but it's a really nice buzzy high that doesn't put you out. A1 daytime strain. When rolled in a doob it's literally the best tasting weed I've had. Tastes very flowery. Not too hard to grow but mine were definitely too tall for the amount of bud they put out. With more proper care I'm certain this could be remedied.
Qcs sent me the same amount of seeds I ordered in samples. Absolutely unreal deal and all of my plants thrived, some getting massive and putting out a lot of bud. I absolutely will continue to support qcs in the future.

Just a last up date. The plant I thought we would get a pound off ended up producing 2.5lbs of trimmed and dry buds. Off 4 different strains from the QCS those 4 plants produced over 10 lbs. One plant had 4lbs 7Oz trimmed and dried. Great genetics.

Had a seed left over of this from last year. Very easy growing plants that sure produce a lot. Had to take this one a bit early but not to much this one went in to flower a bit earlier. Nice big buds. Its not dry yet but I would say we'll get no less than one and a half Lbs off her. I've been growing for over 20 years and this is probably one of the best strains we have ever grown. If you are a new grower this one is for you.

Grew this outdoors. I topped it twice and did some LST and it still ended up being 7ft tall. Very easy to grow but did get some powdery mildew. No problems with nutes at all. Harvested last week and sampled some today. The description is right on about the taste. It's earthy, similar to blue diesel. Very tasty. Will definitely grow again

Great genetics. Big beautiful plants (Southern Ontario outdoor) Even nicer buds. I will be growing this one again. This strain clones very easily took some for my brother and uncle. Have not seen my uncles but my brother are about 7 feet tall and about 5 feet around he should get about a pound per plant. Took one of my little ones down today (a bit early) and should get a half pound dry off it. Great strain.
