These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →
Taste & Aroma Profile

Lemon up front, with a touch of sweetness and a hint of spice, over the unmistakable skunk of the original M39 — the Ontario grower found his “way more skunky” than he expected, in a good way.
About M 39 Granddaddy
Genetics & strain profile
M39 is a Quebec legend — the fast, skunky commercial strain that filled the province’s gardens in the 1990s — and M 39 Granddaddy is our QCS Original take on it, a balanced hybrid that keeps the speed and the skunk and adds a lemon-sweet twist and, in some phenotypes, purple colour. It suits novice growers as well as experienced ones and sits in our beginner-friendly selection. The reviews are among the warmest on the site, 4.8 out of 5 from six growers, and several of them are from people who grew the original M39 decades ago: one Northern Ontario grower called it “just perfect, like M39 on steroids” and said it “brings me back”. Five out of five seeds popped for a Quebec grower who is now testing clones of each phenotype.
How M 39 Granddaddy grows
This is one of the fastest strains we sell. It flowers in 50 to 60 days with up to 500 g/m² indoors, and outdoors it is typically ready in September — the Northern Ontario grower finished in early September and called it his fastest flowerer, “perfect for up north”. He harvested 168 g dry from the plant and noted he could have let it go a little longer. The structure is upright rather than bushy, with “huge spear buds” that run close to main-cola size; another grower found it less branchy than his other plants and would top it twice next time to spread the yield. It is a strong, resilient plant, and the early finish means it is out of the garden before the autumn rains arrive. Purple colour is phenotype-dependent — one reviewer saw little of it — so do not count on it.
Taste, aroma and effect
Lemon up front, with a touch of sweetness and a hint of spice, over the unmistakable skunk of the original M39 — the Ontario grower found his “way more skunky” than he expected, in a good way. A reviewer called it smooth on the throat. The effect shows both sides: the indica side gives a calm, deeply relaxing body, while the sativa side keeps the mood uplifting and euphoric — “a strong high that wakes you up”, as one Quebec customer put it, and “not too much couch lock” according to another. For other early finishers bred here, see Quebec Black Bud and Pure Power Plant.

Interesting strain. Not as bushy as some. Would top twice if I grow it again. Fewer buds than Quebec Black Gold but the ones it is delivering are very large almost main cola sized. Strong plant.
