These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →

About CBD Critical Mass

Genetics & strain profile

CBD Critical Mass is bred by Quebec Cannabis Seeds from Critical Mass genetics selected for high CBD: a mostly indica strain with an equal 5% THC and 5% CBD, which keeps the strength gentle while leaving the heavy Critical Mass yield intact. It carries our bred by QCS, beginner-friendly and harvest from September badges, and its seven reviews average 4.6 out of 5: “excellent yield and a good smell… a phenotype that grows wide rather than tall but branches like crazy with LST”, “great plant, the biggest one I’ve grown so far, 5 feet”, “easy to grow, good smell”, “germinated superbly in 2 days”, and several growers who keep it for the evening. The honest notes: one grower found it “a bit more sensitive than other strains” and worth some experience; one buyer reported male plants and a slow reply, which should not happen with feminized seeds — if a plant shows male flowers, contact us with photos and we will make it right. Our seeds are guaranteed.

How CBD Critical Mass grows

The plant stays compact in a tent — one reviewer’s phenotype grew “really wide and not tall” and responded to low-stress training with a mass of branches — while outdoors it reaches 5 feet with room. Indoors it flowers in just 8 weeks with up to 500 g/m²; a steady temperature and humidity help prevent mould, because Critical Mass buds are famously dense and this one is no exception — keep air moving through the canopy and humidity under 50% in the last three weeks. Outdoors it typically finishes in late September to early October with up to 650 g per plant depending on growing conditions, and the early finish is what makes it a good CBD plant for Quebec; a sunny, open spot with airflow matters more than shelter for this one. Feed moderately; the reviewer who found it sensitive was likely seeing its reaction to heavy feeding or swings in conditions. Soak seeds 12 to 24 hours and plant directly in warm, barely damp soil.

Taste, aroma and effect

Earthy, with sweet and floral notes — a “good smell” that several reviewers mention — on dense, resinous buds that suit oils as well as smoking. The effect is gentle: a calm body with a clear head, and at a 1:1 ratio of 5% THC to 5% CBD it is one of the mildest strains in the catalogue; reviewers reach for it in the evening and for sleep. For other balanced CBD strains, see CBD Blueberry, CBD White Widow and CBD Harlequin; for a mix of them, the CBD mix pack; for the whole range, CBD cannabis seeds.
