These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →

About CBG Jack Frost

Genetics & strain profile

CBG Jack Frost is a CBG-rich strain bred from Jack Herer, White Widow and Northern Lights #5. It is a balanced 50/50 hybrid with 18% CBGA and 9.8% CBG and only 0.21 to 0.23% THC. The page describes it as easy to grow for novice and experienced growers, and it carries our beginner-friendly, mold-tolerant and harvest-from-September badges. Reviews are mixed, with three averaging 3.3 out of 5, and the honest summary is that results vary. One grower gives one star: only 2 of 5 seeds sprouted, the plants grew very tall in a ten-week veg and gave little bud, barely 7 g per plant indoors, though they suspect it does better outdoors. Another gives four stars: two plants finished in six weeks and the results were as expected, but the smell was not as described and the buds were not tight or heavily frosted. A third gives five stars on strong seeds that showed leaves two days after an overnight soak. Our seeds are guaranteed, so if a seed does not come up, contact us.

How CBG Jack Frost grows

Indoors it flowers in a short 6 to 7 weeks and can give 450 to 500 g/m², but the one-star review is a reminder to keep expectations in check: a long vegetative phase on a tall plant used a lot of space and light without a matching yield. Keep veg short, top early and train the branches flat, so that more of the canopy sits close to the light. Outdoors it typically finishes in late September to early October with 500 to 600 g per plant depending on conditions, and the page says it resists common moulds and mildew, which keeps it low-maintenance. For germination, the overnight soak that one reviewer used in filtered water, then straight into soil, worked for them. Check your local rules for CBG-rich plants before you plant.

Taste, aroma and effect

Citrus, earthy, floral and sweet. With almost no THC, it does not give a psychoactive high; the effect is described as light and uplifting, and we cannot promise any effect. For other low-THC strains from us, see CBD White Widow and CBD Northern Lights; for two of the parents, White Widow and Northern Lights.

Ive grown two of these plants now, they grow very well, both finished in 6 weeks, milky and amber tricombs. The plants do not smell anything like described, and the plants don't form tight heavily frosted buds, but the results from consumption are exactly as expected.

These are good strong seeds, I soaked them over night in filtered water, stuck them in the dirt the next morning. They showed leaves two days later. I will write up more as they grow and flower.
