These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →

About Gelato

Genetics & strain profile

Gelato is the Bay Area dessert strain that started a whole family — Biscotti, Acai Jelly and Animal Gelato all descend from it. It is a blend of Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies and Sunset Sherbert, a balanced hybrid that leans indica, with THC reaching up to 25%. Our feminized version keeps the traits that made it famous: dense, colourful buds under a heavy coat of resin and a sweet, creamy flavour. The four reviews are all five stars, though most of them are about our seeds and service rather than the harvest: one long-time customer grew a bonus seed expecting an autoflower, found it was a photoperiod Gelato “so big in its 6th week” that she had to top it before it reached the top of the tent, and wrote that she would “never have to change banks again”.

How Gelato grows

Gelato flowers in 8 to 9 weeks and gives up to 550 g/m² indoors. It is a vigorous plant in veg — the reviewer above was cutting the top off a six-week-old plant that was already touching the tent roof — so flip it before it gets away from you, and top or net it to keep an even canopy. The buds are dense and very resinous, so keep humidity moderate and air moving in the final weeks. Outdoors, expect to harvest around late September to early October, with up to 550 g per plant depending on conditions — an early enough finish for most of Canada. With cool nights late in flower the buds take on the purple and dark-green colours Gelato is known for.

Taste, aroma and effect

The flavour is sweet — the creamy, layered sweetness that Sunset Sherbert brings, with the mint and cookie dough of the GSC side and a citrus edge on the exhale. The effect is euphoric and relaxing: a happy, creative lift first, then a calm body that does not pin you down, which makes it work from the afternoon into the evening. At up to 25% THC it is strong, so pace yourself. For its descendants, see Biscotti and Acai Jelly; for another GSC cross, Wedding Cake.

I wanted to say thank you more than you could imagine, no more herms , and if things go wrong it’s my fault , hard to move around with my injuries, but to change to your seed bank has brought me back, never been this happy, no matter the pain, plus it has helped with my injuries , because I have to do things even when I feel I can’t..thank you. You brought an old guy back to life.

I got some free seeds, I believe they were free Auto seeds, anyway, the last seed is a photo, and honestly I don’t like Autos anymore, so I thought to grow it to get rid of it, well it’s a photo, and I couldn’t be happier…it’s so big in its 6th week, and no flower, so now in 3rd day of flower..happy as can be..
Love this seed bank..

Thanks for the freebies. Everything arrived in good condition but the envelope was split open on one end. Contents were still there and nothing was crushed. Can’t wait to see how things grow. Thanks
