About Runtz
Genetics & strain profile
Runtz comes out of the Los Angeles Cookies family in the late 2010s, a cross of Gelato and Zkittlez that took the dessert flavour of the first and the candy fruit of the second, and became the most hyped strain in North America around 2020. Our Runtz feminized seeds are bred by Quebec Cannabis Seeds from Gelato and Zkittlez parents: a balanced 50/50 hybrid with up to 27% THC and low CBD, selected for potency, colour and that candy flavour.

How Runtz grows
We rate Runtz moderate. It starts slow and compact — plants can look surprisingly small at three weeks from seed — so give it 4 to 6 weeks of veg and top once. After the switch to 12/12 it stretches, so leave headroom. Indoors it flowers in 8 to 9 weeks and yields up to 500 g/m² under good light with a steady feed; one grower on this page had hers ready at day 61 of flower. It clones exceptionally well, which makes it a good mother plant.
Outdoors it is typically ready in late September to early October, with up to 500 g per plant in optimal conditions. Cool September nights help bring out the purple in the buds. The flowers are dense and resinous, so keep airflow around them in a wet fall and harvest by the trichomes rather than the calendar.
Taste, aroma and effect
The aroma is sweet candy and tropical fruit with berry and a creamy, dessert-like finish — very little skunk or fuel. The smoke is smooth and sugary, the Gelato cream under the Zkittlez fruit; one Quebec grower rated it above both parents. The effect is euphoric and happy at first, then calm and relaxed: a balanced high for afternoons and evenings. At up to 27% THC it is strong, and the sweet flavour makes it easy to overdo, so pace yourself.

After going through bad times with growing. I finally nailed it with my Runtz, an amazing plant.
Love the way each type is so different, this one looks special for sure.not only that grew two, then cut 4 clones and wow what a strong plant..excellent for cloning, always a silver lining. Big thanks to, Q.S.B…always the best.

Holy smokes, this is a very healthy, beautiful plant, can’t believe how small in veg, it’s 28 days from seed, very small, I’m wondering if they really reach to 100 centimetres..hope.any suggestions would be appreciated..

Wow, planted 2 20 days ago, started very slow, gave first food today and she grew an inch in a day, now at fourth node, wondering if I should top, or just let them grow to feel them out, what I learn with these 2, I’ll plant the other 3 next, and that’s when I’ll try various methods.Im excited, very nice looking plant, plus its supposed to be smaller, and that’s exactly what I want..
