These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →

About Grape Skunk

Genetics & strain profile

Grape Skunk is one of our QCS Originals and one of the most-reviewed strains in the catalogue: 31 reviews averaging 4.7 out of 5 and ten public grow diaries. It is a 60% indica, 40% sativa hybrid with 17 to 20% THC, easy to grow, in our beginner-friendly selection and in our Featured Strains. The reviews are about size, colour and ease. A SCROG grower’s plant finished 11 feet tall and 10 feet wide with three dozen 18-inch colas, pistils pink then buds deep purple; a southwestern Ontario grower had a plant 7 feet tall and 7 feet wide in a 10-gallon pot on his deck; another has grown it three years running. The kief, one reviewer notes, comes out purple, and so does the hash. The honest note, and it comes up twice: at 17 to 20% THC it is not the strongest strain — “the strength is average, but also depends on how you grow” — and one grower of a freebie felt little effect. If you want potency first, look at our 25%-plus strains; if you want a big, beautiful, forgiving plant, this is it.

How Grape Skunk grows

It is a vigorous plant — a “green machine during veg” — that grows fast and big outdoors, reaching 7 feet or more in a large pot and far more in the ground, so top it early and net or stake it. It handles a high EC, as one reviewer notes, so it is hard to over-feed; the buds are not too leafy and are easy to trim. Indoors it flowers in 7 to 9 weeks with up to 450 g/m²; outdoors expect to harvest around late September to early October with up to 550 g per plant in optimal conditions, which makes it a solid choice for Canada’s short season. A public diary records a plant over 7 feet tall and 875 g wet that came through heavy July rain and humidity with no mould, and a 2025 Ontario grower reports no insects, powdery mildew or mould in a difficult year. Cool nights late in flower bring out the purple and pink.

Taste, aroma and effect

Berry, skunk, citrus and grape — both fruity and pungent, with a “very sweet grape smell” on the plant and a tasty, smooth smoke after cure. The high is balanced and relaxing, a “nice relaxing high with excellent taste”, suited to an evening without being a knockout. For the strain’s Skunk relatives bred here, see Quebec Super Skunk and Biscotti Skunk; for a purple strain with more punch, Purple Kush; to buy it by the hundred, bulk seeds.

This is very good strain to grow. It is easy and flowers very beautiful purple buds. The strength of the THC is average, but also depends on how you grow. It gives nice relaxing high with excellent taste and smell. Growing this strain for 3rd year in a row, I can recommend it with confidence.

The purple tricomes made some very interesting looking hash. I will be getting this again for sure. Huge bag appeal weather grown indoor or outdoor in Southern Ontario. I would say a very easy grow because it can handle some pretty high ec so it's hard to over feed it.

Great strain. Held up very well in Southern Ontario weather this year. Just cut them down 3 days ago. Fantastic flower structure! Smell and look amazing. Can't wait till the dry and cure is finished in a few weeks to finally sample! No issues with insects, powdery mould or mildew. Super frosty! All 5 seeds popped as well. Would recommend to anyone!

This strain grows VERY tall, very fast, at least it did for me! The buds in the display picture are very accurate to what i grew- nice big and cone shaped bud with beautiful purple and pink hues. Was very easy to grow, and i would expect outdoors to have a 7foot plant or larger.

This plant was a monster! 100% germination rate. Green machine during veg. Responded well to trimming so I SCROGed it. By the time this beast was finished it was 10 feet wide and 11 feet tall with 3 dozen 18 inch colas. Pistols started out a beautiful pink then the buds transitioned to a deep purple. Very sweet grape smell. Not the strongest weed but definitely a winner. Had minor issues with powder mildew so I would recommend keeping it well opened up with good ventilation.

Got 2 freebie seeds, grew one of them, buds look beautiful but I don't think there is much THC in there, I don't get much effects from it, will try the 2nd seed.

i didnt do anything this year to the plants they turned out amazing. i started them indoors for 2 weeks and 1 week to harden them for outside and i used root stimulants when putting them in the ground outside and after that ive watered them 3 or 4 times all year and of 2 of grape skunk 1 was just over 7 feet and the othe was 8 feet. absolutly incredibel. buds are monsterous, purple and covered in tricomes. cant wait till theyre ready to be jared
