What is Grape Skunk?
Grape Skunk is one of our own strains, bred by Quebec Cannabis Seeds in Quebec. It is a balanced hybrid, 60% indica and 40% sativa, with 17 to 20% THC, and it is easy to grow. It is also one of the genetics behind our Roji OGS (Nepali OG × Snow Lotus × Grape Skunk).
Looking for the “Grape Skunk strain” elsewhere? Strain names are not protected, so listings on other sites can describe different plants. Everything on this page describes the QCS original.
Is Grape Skunk indica or sativa?
It leans indica at 60% indica and 40% sativa, but it grows more like a tall hybrid than a squat indica: several growers were surprised by how much it stretches early on and how big it gets.
Smell and flavour: berry, grape, citrus and skunk
The aroma is both fruity and pungent: berry, grape, citrus and skunk. Customers describe it in their own words as a pungent mix of grape, berries and grapefruit with a hint of skunk, a very sweet grape smell, or earthy and skunky smoke. One grower even picked up a tease of black licorice and no grape at all, so, as with any strain, expect some variation.
Appearance: deep purple flowers and purple kief
Colour is what Grape Skunk is known for. Customers describe pink pistils that turn to deep purple buds with hints of green, frosty flowers, and even purple kief and trichomes that made unusually coloured hash. Big, cone-shaped buds and a plant that is not too leafy also make it easy to trim, because the purple stands out from the green leaves.
Grape Skunk effects
The high is balanced. Customers describe a nice, smooth, uplifting and relaxing high; one grower detailed a long-lasting head-to-toe effect that starts relaxing and leaves the senses alert. As always, how a strain feels depends on the person, the dose and how it was grown.
How strong is Grape Skunk? THC content
Grape Skunk delivers 17 to 20% THC, depending on the growing conditions. That is a moderate range. Growers are candid about it: several call it average or not the strongest, one found little effect, and one reported a test result of 24%. If you want the highest THC in our range, look at our Animal Gelato instead; if you want colour, size and an easy grow, Grape Skunk is the one.
Growing Grape Skunk: flowering time and yield
Grape Skunk is easy to grow, but give it room. Indoors it flowers in 7 to 9 weeks and yields up to 450 g/m². Outdoors it is typically ready in late September to early October, with up to 550 g per plant in optimal conditions. Those are ranges, not promises. No strain is ever fully mould resistant, so keep plants open with good airflow and check the flowers regularly in a wet autumn.
Indoor is measured per m², outdoor per plant — the two figures aren’t directly comparable. Some growers report more than these ranges and some less.
What growers report
We would rather give you the whole picture, so here is what real growers wrote. On GrowDiaries, Grape Skunk from Quebec Cannabis Seeds is rated 9.8 out of 10 across 5 harvests, 10 diaries and 9 growers, and the six grower reviews give it 9 or 10, rating its difficulty easy or normal. On our own product page, 31 customer reviews average 4.7 out of 5.
- Size: this is a big plant. Growers report 7-foot plants with no topping, 8 ft outdoors, 7 ft by 7 ft in a 10-gallon pot on a deck, and one SCROGed plant that finished 11 ft tall and 10 ft wide with three dozen 18-inch colas. A grower who planted outdoors in the ground and barely watered it still got plants of 7 to 8 ft.
- Early stretch: one grower on GrowDiaries wrote they were surprised by how much it stretched at the start, though otherwise it was an easy strain. Plan your space before you flip.
- Yield: results vary. One grower reported close to 900 g from each of two untopped 7-foot plants, and another logged 875 g wet at over 7 ft through a rainy, humid July. The small weights logged on GrowDiaries are 65 g and 34 g, from limited grows, and the 34 g grower had planted in mid-winter and said the result was his own fault. A 2-star reviewer reported low yield and low THC.
- Feeding: one grower says it handles high EC, so it is hard to overfeed.
- Mould and pests: a Southern Ontario grower cut on October 2, 2025 with no insects, powdery mould or mildew, and another dried it beside a mouldy batch without it catching anything. Another reported minor powdery mildew and advises opening the plant up with good ventilation.
- Not for everyone: one reviewer found it beautiful but easy to stress, and one found it weak. Several others called the THC average.
- Germination: many reviewers reported all or nearly all seeds popping.

Grape Skunk: frequently asked questions
How long does Grape Skunk take to flower?
About 7 to 9 weeks indoors. Outdoors it is typically ready from late September to early October.
How much does Grape Skunk yield?
Up to 450 g/m² indoors and up to 550 g per plant outdoors in optimal conditions. These are ranges, not promises: a few growers report much more from big untopped outdoor plants, and a few report less.
How strong is Grape Skunk?
It has 17 to 20% THC. That is moderate rather than top-end: several growers call it average or “not the strongest”, though others find it clearly gets them high and one reported a higher test result.
Is Grape Skunk indica or sativa?
It is a hybrid leaning indica: 60% indica and 40% sativa.
Is Grape Skunk an autoflower?
No. Grape Skunk is a photoperiod feminized strain, so it flowers when you switch to a 12/12 light cycle (or as the season shortens outdoors).
Is Grape Skunk easy to grow?
Yes — it is one of our easiest. Growers on GrowDiaries rate its difficulty as easy to normal, and customers say it is hard to overfeed and easy to trim. The main surprise is size and early stretch, so give it room and top or train it.
How tall does Grape Skunk get?
Tall. Growers report 7-foot plants without any topping, 7 ft by 7 ft in a 10-gallon pot, and one trained plant that reached 11 ft tall. Plan space or topping accordingly.
What does Grape Skunk smell and taste like?
Berry, skunk, citrus and grape: both fruity and pungent. Growers also mention grapefruit, sweet grape, earthy skunk and, in one case, a hint of black licorice.
Is Grape Skunk mould resistant?
No strain is fully mould resistant. Growers report good mould tolerance, including a Southern Ontario harvest on October 2 with no insects, powdery mould or mildew, but one grower had minor powdery mildew on a very large plant. Keep plants open with good airflow.
