These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →

About QC Afghanistan Kush

Genetics & strain profile

QC Afghanistan Kush is a 100% indica bred by Quebec Cannabis Seeds, chosen after a long search for the right phenotype of the old Afghan mountain lines: a strong, easy, uniform plant with around 21% THC and low CBD. It carries three of our badges — bred by QCS, beginner-friendly and harvest from September — and its first two reviews are both five stars and both about the same thing, uniformity and vigour: “popped a couple of these and they are practically twins with good uniformity and vigour — the leaves have the perfect shape and definition, kudos to the breeders of QCS”, and “5/5 popped within 24 hours and into soil, outstanding early growth… tight node spacing with a leafy, even canopy… stalks already as thick as a straw at 5 nodes”. That is what a stabilised indica looks like in the first month. If you grow it, a review helps the next person. Our seeds are guaranteed.

How QC Afghanistan Kush grows

We list a tall plant structure for its type, and the reviewer growing it indoors describes squat, bushy plants with tight nodes in early veg — both are true of a good Afghan: it builds a thick, strong frame first and gains height later, so give it a short veg indoors or top it once. Flowering takes approximately 55 to 65 days with up to 450 g/m² indoors; the buds are dense, so keep airflow through the canopy and humidity under 50% in the last weeks. Outdoors, a normal growing season allows harvest around late September to early October — comfortably inside the Quebec season — with up to 600 g per plant in suitable conditions. It is a hardy, undemanding plant: moderate feeding, full sun, a stake by August, and it will take cold nights and a wet September better than most. Germination in the review was five for five within 24 hours; soak 12 to 24 hours and plant directly in warm, barely damp soil.

Taste, aroma and effect

Earthy notes first, followed by sweet undertones and a woody finish — the classic hash-plant profile, without fruit or candy. The effect is happy, relaxed and sleepy, in that order: a true indica for the end of the day, and at about 21% THC strong enough to start small. For other Afghan-line indicas, see Purple Afghani and Master Kush; for heavier yields with a Kush profile, Critical Kush; for another QCS original, QC Purple Thai.

So far so good! 5/5 popped within 24hrs and into soil. Outstanding early growth, I’m down to 3 keepers for an indoor run. Was only going to do 2 but the 3rd is just looking too good, tight node spacing with leafy even canopy. These are looking like they will be squat bushy plants. Stalks are already getting as thick as a straw at 5 nodes. I use Azos in my early up-potting and the roots are explosive. Will leave review once done.
