Critical Kush is a cross between Critical Mass and OG Kush: the heaviest-yielding plant of the Big Bud family on the most famous Kush there is. It is 90% indica, 10% sativa with 20 to 24% THC and very little CBD, we rate it easy to moderate to grow, it carries our mould-tolerant and harvest-from-September badges, and there are two grow diaries on GrowDiaries for week-by-week photos. Three reviews average 4.7, and two of them are about size: one grower, given three free seeds, saw them grow “to almost 2 meters” and produce “insane quantities” that took a month to trim; another, after a long 20-week veg, harvested “colas the length of my arm, over a pound every plant”. The honest note from the first: his harvest ran late and he worried about mould — the plant came through, but it is a reminder to plan the finish.
How Critical Kush grows
Indoors it flowers in 9 to 10 weeks — 60 to 70 days — and typically gives up to 600 g/m², on a medium, sturdy indica frame with strong side branches; top it once and net it, feed a full schedule, and stake or net the colas by week five, because the Critical Mass side puts on weight that the branches cannot always hold. It resists common moulds and mildew better than most strains this dense, but keep the air moving in the last three weeks all the same. Outdoors it is typically ready in late September to early October with up to 650 g per plant depending on conditions — early enough for all of southern Canada — and reviewers show what a long season and a big pot can do: plants near two metres and over a pound each. Woah! Got 3 free seeds of this w my order! Am I ever grateful. They grew to almost 2 meters, produced insane quantities, had me trimming for a month. Harvest was way late and I got worried about mould, but I ended up w so much awesome perfect bud. Also as a sativa lover, I have to admit this is sweet lovely weed, great fun peppy buzz. Wow!
