These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →

About Moby Dick

Genetics & strain profile

Moby Dick is bred from a cross of Haze and White Widow: the long, electric high of the Haze family on the resin and vigour of White Widow, in a plant named for its size. It is a sativa-dominant hybrid known for its yields, with up to 21% THC, and we rate it moderate to grow — accessible to growers of all levels, but a big plant that needs room and a plan. It has one review so far, from a first-time Moby Dick grower mid-season: his plants “look like the whale in the name”, putting on new growth daily, and he found that pruning a few of the big fan leaves to let light into the lower growth was helpful. We will add grower reports as they come in.

How Moby Dick grows

Indoors the plants grow to a medium height if you flip them early, and flower in 60 to 70 days with up to 650 g/m²; the Haze side stretches hard after the flip, so top it, net it, and leave headroom, and take our reviewer’s advice to thin the big fan leaves so light reaches the lower colas. It resists many common pests and diseases, which keeps it low-maintenance, and it feeds moderately. Outdoors the plants get much bigger and are typically ready in mid to late October with up to 1,500 g per plant depending on growing conditions — a number that assumes a long, mild season, full sun and open ground. That finish is late for much of Canada, so it suits gardens where fall stays mild, a greenhouse, or an early indoor start; further north, choose an earlier strain. Keep the air moving around the big colas in a wet October.

Taste, aroma and effect

Earthy and citrusy, from its Haze parent, with hints of lemon and spice and a subtle sweetness, on dense, frosty flowers that the White Widow side makes very resinous. The effect is a strong, energizing head high — clear, creative and talkative — with a relaxing body underneath that keeps it from racing, a daytime or early-evening strain. At up to 21% THC it is moderately strong. For other Haze sativas, see Amnesia Autoflower and Strawberry; for the White Widow side, CBD White Widow and Purple Widow; for another giant yielder, Critical Magic.

1st time growing QCS's Moby Dick. They are not in flower yet but look like the whale in the name. Minor pruning of the big fans leaves to allow light to get where they are trying to grow is looking helpful. New growth is without question on daily basis.(her choice)
Cheers!
