These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →

About Blackberry Kush

Genetics & strain profile

Blackberry Kush is a cross of Blackberry and Afghani — the dark, sweet fruit of the first on the heavy, hashy frame of the Afghan indica. It is a mostly indica strain with 20% THC and low CBD, known for deep, full-body relaxation and a sweet, fruity flavour, and it is one of the classic night-time strains. Four reviews so far, all five stars: a southeastern Ontario grower whose plant reached over 6 feet in the garden, “already loaded with flowers compared to my other strains”; a Quebec grower who calls it one of the smoothest strains he has grown, with a good smell on the plant and after drying and good production; and a customer who had a couple of seeds fail, got them replaced with one extra, and “couldn’t ask for it to be any better”. Our seeds are guaranteed.

How Blackberry Kush grows

Indoors it flowers in 8 to 10 weeks with up to 16 ounces per square metre (about 450 g/m²). The plants have the compact, thick-stemmed structure of their Afghani parent and stay at a medium height in a tent, with dense buds that call for moderate humidity and steady airflow in the last three weeks; it feeds normally and takes topping and a net well. Outdoors it is a different animal: in good soil and full sun it reaches 6 feet and more, and you should aim to harvest in October with about 19 ounces per plant (about 540 g) depending on conditions, which suits southern Quebec, Ontario and the Maritimes in a normal year. The Afghan heritage gives it tolerance for cool nights, and cool nights late in flower bring out the deep purple the strain is named for. For the smoothest smoke — the quality reviewers single out — give it a full dry and cure.

Taste, aroma and effect

Sweet and fruity, with a berry aroma and subtle earthy undertones that grow stronger as the buds are broken apart, and a hashy Afghan depth on the exhale. The effect is euphoric, relaxed and sleepy: a happy start, then a deep body calm that ends on the couch — an evening strain for sore muscles and for sleep. At 20% THC it is moderate and manageable for newer users. For other berry indicas, see Shishkaberry and Blueberry; for a berry strain with more lift, Blackberry Runtz; for the Afghan side, Mazar.

J'ai juste du bien à dire de cette sorte là.
Bonne odeur lors de la pousse et une fois séchée, et une des sortes les plus douces que j'ai fait pousser. Bonne production.

I bought this strain, as well as a few others and it's currently growing very well in my garden in South Eastern Ontario. This plant grew really tall (6ft+ tall) and it's already loaded with flowers compared to my other strains. I'm super impressed with all the seeds I've ever purchased from QCS, including the blackberry kush seeds! I'm definitely going to continue being a repeat customer!!
