Critical — sometimes sold as Critical Mass — is the fast, heavy-yielding indica from the classic Afghani × Skunk cross, named for how quickly it fills a room and how heavy its colas get. Our feminized version has 18% THC, a compact structure and high resilience, and it suits novice and experienced growers alike. It is a workhorse rather than a connoisseur strain: moderate potency, enormous production and a short flowering time, which is exactly what a Canadian season rewards. The one review so far is a five-star report from a Quebec grower who got three Critical as freebies and called their outdoor performance “incredible — no powdery mildew, barely any bud rot, big beautiful buds, vigorous plants, a keeper for outdoors”.
How Critical grows
Indoors Critical flowers in just 7 to 8 weeks and gives 650 to 700 g/m², among the highest indoor figures in our catalogue. The plants are compact and bushy with thick colas that will need staking or a net by week 5 of flower. Outdoors it is typically ready in early to mid-October, and in good conditions a full-season plant can give 1,350 to 1,400 g — that is a large plant in the ground with full sun, not a pot on a balcony. The Skunk side gives it good resistance to pests and mould, as the Quebec reviewer found in a humid summer, but the dense Afghani-style buds still hold moisture: keep airflow around the colas and harvest before a long wet spell.
