These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →

About Hash Bud

Genetics & strain profile

Hash Bud is bred by Quebec Cannabis Seeds: a 60% indica, 40% sativa hybrid with 20 to 24% THC and low CBD, easy to grow and named for the resin it makes — the kind of plant you grow for hash as much as for flower. It has five grower diaries on GrowDiaries and two reviews averaging 4.5 out of 5, both from big outdoor plants. A grower near Edmonton pulled 740 g dried (1.6 pounds) from one manifolded plant outdoors — “fantastic plant, great dense buds that were super easy to trim, excellent strong and long-lasting smoke” — and documented it on GrowDiaries. A Quebec grower had plants that made “beautiful balls, 8 by 8 feet”, but gave 4 stars because they would not be ready before mid-October, later than the listed window. Our seeds are guaranteed.

How Hash Bud grows

The plants grow to a medium height indoors and flower in 7 to 9 weeks with up to 450 g/m²; the buds are dense and easy to trim, and the plant takes training well — the Edmonton grower manifolded his for an even set of colas. Outdoors it is a different scale: expect to harvest late September to early October with up to 550 g per plant in optimal conditions, and in the ground with room it can become an 8-foot-wide bush, so plan the space and stake the branches. The Quebec reviewer’s plants ran to mid-October, so treat the window as late September in a warm site and mid-October in a cooler or shadier one; start indoors in April and give it full sun to keep it on the early side. A plant this wide needs airflow through the middle in a wet fall: thin the inside and check the dense colas once the rains start. The Edmonton result shows it handles a short prairie season well.

Taste, aroma and effect

Berry, skunk, citrus and grape: both fruity and pungent, with the hashy, resinous depth the name promises, on buds that leave the scissors sticky. The high is balanced — a clear, happy start from the sativa side settling into a relaxed body — and one reviewer calls it “excellent strong and long-lasting smoke”; at 20 to 24% THC it is strong, so start small. For other resin-heavy strains, see Early Hash Skunk, Gorilla Glue and Cinderella 99; for other strains bred here, Quebec Blast and Quebec Gold Express.

From public grow diaries written by the growers themselves, not by us. Full analysis: what 400+ grower reports told us.

  • Northern Canada, outdoors: 740 g dry from a single plant, cut in rounds on 3, 4 and 16 October, with no bud rot reported.
  • A second northern Canada diary, grown from seed, gave 178 g dry.
