What is Lemon OG Kush?

Lemon OG Kush is a feminized hybrid we bred in Quebec from Skunk and OG Kush. It is 60% indica and 40% sativa with 22% THC, and it comes only from Quebec Cannabis Seeds. If you have searched for “Lemon OG”, “Lemon OG strain” or “Lemon OG weed strain”, this is the QCS original. Strain names are not protected, so listings on other sites can describe different plants; everything on this page describes ours.

Is Lemon OG Kush indica or sativa?

It is an indica-leaning hybrid at 60% indica and 40% sativa. Growers do not all see it the same way: one outdoor grower on the Quebec–Vermont border said his plants were more sativa than described, around 65% sativa by his own assessment, and they grew over 8 feet tall. That fits a 40% sativa side, but it is a good reason to give plants vertical room.

Lemon OG Kush smell and flavour

Expect bright, zesty lemon with earthy and skunky notes underneath. A customer who received the seeds as a gift reported a strong lemon smell that made it a pleasure to grow. Not everyone describes it the same way: another reviewer noted sugar and a little oil on the buds and a faint herbal flavour, and said some of the flowers were a little purple while most stayed green.

Appearance: frosty buds, amber and purple sugar leaves

The buds are frosty, and the sugar leaves can turn amber and purple, as in the photo below. One grower saw a few purple buds among mostly green ones; a GrowDiaries grower shared a plant with the deepest purple bud of their grow.

Lemon OG Kush strain effects

The high is uplifting and euphoric in the head and relaxing in the body. As always, how a strain feels depends on the person, the dose and how it was grown.

How strong is Lemon OG Kush? THC content

Lemon OG Kush has about 22% THC, depending on the growing conditions. That is a solid, mid-to-high potency, so if you are new to it, start low.

Growing Lemon OG Kush: flowering time and yield

Lemon OG Kush is moderately easy to grow and suits growers of all levels. Indoors it flowers in 8 to 9 weeks and produces dense buds, with up to 550 g/m². Outdoors it is typically ready in October, with up to 550 g per plant, depending on conditions. Those are ranges, not promises. October is late in a short season, so no strain is ever fully mould resistant: keep plants open and check the flowers often in a wet autumn. Our guide to the best outdoor strains for Quebec’s short season goes deeper, and our beginner seeds guide helps if this is your first grow.

What customers and growers report

We would rather give you the whole picture. Lemon OG Kush has four reviews on its product page — three five-star and one four-star, an average of 4.75 out of 5 — and four reviews and four diaries on GrowDiaries, where its growers rated their grows 9 or 10 out of 10. These are small samples, so treat them as signals rather than proof.

  • Quality: one customer called it some of the best smoke you can get to grow on the East coast. Another said it was the best among the dozens of varieties they had bought from us.
  • Germination: a customer who got three seeds as a gift saw all three germinate, and another who received seeds as a gift said all of them germinated and the plants looked exactly like the photo.
  • Size: the outdoor grower on the Quebec–Vermont border planted outside on June 1, 2023, had plants over 8 feet tall in week five of flower in mid-September, and expected to harvest in the first week of October. A GrowDiaries grower said they were not ready for how tall it got and want to grow it again.
  • Ease: GrowDiaries growers called it easy to grow, one saying it was straightforward with no issues.
  • The honest caveat on yield: the two GrowDiaries diaries that logged a weight recorded small harvests, 49 g and 14 g per plant. The grower of the 14 g plant blamed himself and short winter daylight for the small size, and said round two with summer sun should be well over five feet. Our 550 g figures are the upper end for a well-run grow, not a typical result for every plant.

Is Lemon OG Kush right for you?

If you want a lemon-forward hybrid with an uplifting head high and body relaxation at 22% THC, and you have the vertical room, Lemon OG Kush is a good fit at any experience level. Look at the Lemon OG Kush product page for current details.
