These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →

About Mimosa

Genetics & strain profile

Mimosa is bred by Quebec Cannabis Seeds from Purple Punch and Clementine: the dessert-grape sweetness and mould resistance of Purple Punch with the bright orange-citrus and the energy of Clementine. It tests at 24 to 30% THC, gives generous yields, and has an uplifting character unusual for a strain this strong; it carries our mould tolerant badge. It is a newer addition and does not yet have customer reviews, so the figures below come from our own grows rather than from reviewers; if you grow it, a review helps the next person. Our seeds are guaranteed.

How Mimosa grows

Indoors it stretches vigorously after the flip and usually finishes between 3 and 5 feet after training, so top once in veg, switch to 12/12 at about half the height you want, and use a net; flowering takes 65 to 70 days with up to 700 g/m². Outdoors or in a greenhouse it is typically ready in mid to late October in most temperate zones, with 600 to 800 g per plant depending on growing conditions — a late window that suits southern Ontario, coastal BC and a greenhouse in Quebec better than an open Quebec garden, where a cold, wet October can catch it. Start it indoors in April and give it the sunniest spot you have, or grow it under cover. Its Purple Punch side gives it mould resistance for the late season, which matters with buds this dense; still keep the air moving and check the colas once the rains start. It is a moderate feeder with a sweet tooth for phosphorus and potassium in flower, and the Purple Punch colour comes out with cool nights.

Taste, aroma and effect

Bright citrus — orange and clementine — with a sweet pine finish and a grape-candy undertone from Purple Punch. The effect is energetic, euphoric and happy: a daytime strain despite the potency, more coffee than nightcap. At 24 to 30% THC it is very strong, so newer users should start small. For the parents, see Granddaddy Purple (one of Purple Punch’s parents) and, for the orange side, California Orange and Tangerine Dream Autoflower; for other very potent dessert strains, Frosted Gelato and Black Runtz.
