These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →

About Acai Jelly

Genetics & strain profile

Acai Jelly is a balanced hybrid bred by Quebec Cannabis Seeds from Bacio Gelato and Acai Berry Gelato — two branches of the Gelato family, one dark and creamy, one berry-bright. It tests at 27 to 30% THC with about 0.2% CBD, which puts it among the strongest strains we offer. Five reviews average 3.8 out of 5 and they tell a useful story: a grower who ran two outdoors had plants around 8 feet tall and “yielded almost 2 pounds”, loved the smell and taste and will buy again; a Quebec grower found it fast, bushy and tolerant of pinching, with big buds, but had to harvest early when mildew took hold in a wet season; and one customer had only three of five seeds germinate, though the three came up in two to three days as strong seedlings. If a pack underperforms, contact us.

How Acai Jelly grows

Indoors Acai Jelly reaches 1 to 5 feet depending on veg and flowers in 58 to 63 days, with around 450 to 550 g/m². The buds fatten up a lot in the last three weeks, so keep good airflow and moderate humidity so they stay free of mould. Outdoors it grows to 5 to 9 feet and is typically ready in early to mid-October. In favourable conditions it gives up to 750 to 1,000 g per plant, and roughly 400 to 500 g in more modest ones; the near-2-lb report above came from 8-foot plants in Nova Scotia. It handles topping and pinching well. The one real caution is humidity: give it full sun, space between plants and a dry harvest window, and in a wet year be ready to chop a little early rather than lose the crop.

Taste, aroma and effect

Earthy, forest-floor notes brightened by tangy berry, with a mild Kush spice on the exhale and the creamy sweetness of its Gelato parents underneath — “love the smell and taste”, as one grower put it. The effect starts with a cerebral lift and then carries the heavy body of its Gelato side: an afternoon-into-evening strain that becomes a bedtime one in larger amounts. At 27 to 30% THC it is among the strongest we sell, so start small. For the original, see Gelato; for its dessert sibling, Biscotti.

We're allowed four plants in NS. I planted 1 Acai Jelly seed in late March, and cut a clone from it early May. So I have 2 plants of this variety. Both were started indoors under LED light. They are in pots with sunshine mix #4 using General Hydroponics Grow- Bloom- Micro series. They are about 2 feet high now in mid August. I have to chase the sun around the backyard, so no full sun possible.

Why write about these in mid August?
It's unusual for plants to bloom this early here. Day length is still 14.5 hours. I noticed buttons August 4th!
My other 2 plants of a different variety are still living the summer dream. I'll start putting them in the shed last week in August in the evening to force them.
So, THESE ARE EARLY BLOOMERS.

So if I understand correctly, all the seed banks that sell Purple Kush, white widow, Bruce Banner, Skunk, and etcetera, are all liars, since they are not the original creators of the strain. Wake up buddy it's a common practice in the seed industry to replicate the latest strain. Just as some of our QC seeds have been replicated by other seed banks.

These germinated in 2-3 days and produced strong, healthy seedlings quickly. The only downside is that only 3 out of the 5 seeds germinated.
