Northern Lights Fast Version Cannabis Seeds Feminized

Genetics & strain profile

Northern Lights Fast Version is bred by Quebec Cannabis Seeds from the classic Northern Lights indica genetics with a small share of autoflower genetics added, so it finishes weeks ahead of the regular strain while still flowering with the season. It is a mostly indica strain with 15% THC or more — a moderate, old-school strength — and it carries our September harvest badge. Fifteen reviews average 4.8 out of 5, plus six public grow diaries. Reviewers report 10 of 10 seeds into ten mature plants, 5 of 5 germination “and early, as hoped”, plants that survived four transplants and repeated topping “as if nothing happened”, and a grower who called his two plants “amazing — massive colas, basically complete bud” with red-purple in the calyxes. The honest note is about timing, and we want to be clear about it below: one grower found his plants slower to flower than his other Fast Version and “cutting it close to October frost”.

How Northern Lights Fast Version grows

The plants grow to a medium height with the sturdy, compact Northern Lights frame and take topping well — one reviewer got four main colas from a single top. Indoors it has a short flowering time of just 6 to 7 weeks (one grower under a 400-watt HPS finished in close to eight) with up to 350 g/m²; the buds are round, hard and resinous, so keep the air moving late in flower. Outdoors, expect to harvest around September or early October with up to 450 g per plant in optimal conditions. A Fast Version still needs shorter days to flower — it is not an autoflower — but the autoflower gene makes it finish early; because of that gene, stress moves the date more than it would on a normal plant, so give it steady water, light feeding and no transplant shocks in June and July. One honest caveat: our public diaries for this strain do not yet record an outdoor harvest date, one diary noted flowers only starting to show in late September, and one reviewer found it slower than his Critical Mass Fast. The outdoor window above is our estimate; the earlier you start, the safer it is.

Taste, aroma and effect

Earthy, piney and sweet — the clean, resinous Northern Lights profile, without much loud smell in the grow, which reviewers appreciate. The effect is a deep, soothing, long-lasting relaxation: a classic evening indica, mellow at 15%-plus THC and easy to handle for newer users. For the regular strain, see Northern Lights; for the autoflowering version, Auto Northern Lights; for other Fast Versions, Big Bud Fast Version and Blueberry Fast Version.

Grown in Canada: what growers reported

From public grow diaries written by the growers themselves, not by us. Full analysis: what 400+ grower reports told us.

We have public grow diaries for this strain, but none of them records an outdoor harvest date. The outdoor window above is our own estimate and has not yet been confirmed by an independent grower report. One diary noted that flowers were only starting to show as the season ended in late September.
