These figures are ranges, not promises. Flowering time, harvest date and yield vary depending on growing conditions: the grower, the method and the season's weather. "Mold resistant" means mold tolerant: less prone to mold and slower to be affected. No strain is 100% mold resistant. How we set these numbers →

About Blueberry Fast Version

Genetics & strain profile

Blueberry Fast Version is our quicker take on the classic Blueberry, which descends from Thai, Purple Thai and Afghani. It is an indica-dominant strain with 24% THC and very little CBD, rated easy to grow and a good choice for a first grow. A Fast Version carries a small share of autoflower genetics, which is what lets it finish one to two weeks ahead of the standard Blueberry while still responding to the light cycle like a photoperiod plant. It is one of our most-reviewed products, with 19 reviews averaging 4.7 out of 5; several customers say they order Fast Versions from us every year. One experienced Blueberry grower disagreed, finding his phenotype neither especially fast nor especially blueberry-like, so read the notes on timing below.

How Blueberry Fast Version grows

It is a medium-height plant, up to 5 feet indoors, with a quick 7 to 8 week flowering time and 12 to 14 oz/m² (about 340 to 400 g). Outdoors it reaches 5 to 8 feet and gives 14 to 18 oz per plant (about 400 to 510 g), depending on conditions. The reviews describe the outdoor plant well: a Southern Ontario grower sprouted his in mid-May in an autopot, topped it twice in July and saw the first flowers in the first week of August on a bushy, shoulder-high plant; another called his “outdoor beasts” at over 8 feet; a free seed grown as the “smallest of my plants” still made 4.5 feet and was harvested at the end of September. It germinates reliably — 10 out of 10 for one customer — and the short flowering window leaves less time for pests and mould, although one grower in a wet year did see some. Keep stress low: one reviewer found a few seeds in his buds around day 40 of flower, and the autoflower gene makes Fast Versions less forgiving of transplant shock, light leaks and heavy training than a standard photoperiod strain.

When to harvest Blueberry Fast Version outdoors

Most Fast Versions are typically ready in September, and a few reach the first week of October. Blueberry Fast Version usually finishes in September outdoors, but this always depends on the grower and the conditions: experience, weather and stress can all move the date, and stress matters more with Fast Versions because of the autoflower gene they carry. Watch the trichomes from late August and harvest when most heads are cloudy with a few turning amber.

Taste, aroma and effect

Berry and blueberry, sweet, with vanilla and woody notes — one organic outdoor grower called it “super strong, makes my lips burn” in the best way, and several mention giant, solid buds “super coated in crystals”. The effect comes from both sides of the family: the Thai side gives a gentle cerebral lift and the Afghani side a thorough, relaxing body effect. One reviewer summed it up as a deep stone that still left him energetic and productive. For the full-length original, see Blueberry; for a heavier indica from the same parent, Blue God.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Blueberry Fast Version take to flower?

7 to 8 weeks indoors. Outdoors it usually finishes in September — one reviewer harvested at the end of September.

How much does Blueberry Fast Version yield?

12 to 14 oz/m² indoors (about 340 to 400 g) and 14 to 18 oz per plant outdoors (about 400 to 510 g).

How strong is Blueberry Fast Version?

24% THC with very little CBD. A gentle cerebral lift followed by a relaxing body effect.

Is Blueberry Fast Version easy to grow?

Yes. It is classed as easy and suits first-time growers, with reliable germination. Keep stress low because of the autoflower gene it carries.

What are the parents of Blueberry Fast Version?

Thai, Purple Thai and Afghani — the classic Blueberry line, with a small share of autoflower genetics for the early finish.

When does Blueberry Fast Version finish outdoors?

Usually in September. Most Fast Versions are ready in September and none should run past the first week of October, but timing depends on the grower, the weather and stress.

What is a Fast Version cannabis seed?

A feminized strain with a small amount of autoflower genetics introduced so it finishes sooner than a classic photoperiod plant. Because it carries the autoflower gene, stress can affect it more.

How tall does Blueberry Fast Version get?

Up to 5 feet indoors and 5 to 8 feet outdoors — reviewers reported shoulder-high plants and one over 8 feet.

Grew this one in my backyard in S. Ontario using the autopot system + Cybele labs nutrients. Seed sprouted in mid-May. It was a rather bushy plant with dense foliage and grew to about shoulder height (including the pot). I topped it twice, at the beginning and of July and again 2 weeks later. It started showing her flower in the 1st week of August and I defoliated 90% of its leaves about a week later. Her buds only started to purple up in the last week of September during her flush. I harvested her many kolas on Sept 30 and after drying the plant yielded grams shy of 3/4 lb. It's all in jars curing now. I'm excited with the outcome and hope the bud dazzles my senses and mind once it's fully cured. If I could share pics I would.... It was a spectacular grow!
Definitely going to grow again and recommend it - especially since it's ready by end of Sept before you really need to start worrying about mouldy conditions the cool wet fall weather brings.

Got this strain as a gift! Plants were beautiful smelled so good! Turned out very good! giant super solid buds super coated in crystals! Amazing effect very nice deep stone but I find I have lots of energy when smoking. I also find it makes me feel like being productive yet extremely relaxed! My plants didn’t get that cool purple colour because they finished early before end of august actually!! I would grow this every year!

80 percent germination success rate plant is quick growing seems to be resistant to powdery mildew and dampening off very nice for a humid near coastal grow like mine. In my opinion it would be well suited for greenhouse culture.
