Which one should you pick?
- You want as little THC as possible. CBD Charlotte's Web at 0.3 to 1.0% THC, or CBD Zero at under 1% with 15% CBD. These are the two that come closest to what most people mean by "CBD therapy" genetics.
- You want the highest CBD figure. CBD AC/DC at 15 to 20% CBD with 1% or less THC. It is derived from Cannatonic and is the strongest CBD line we carry.
- You want a balanced 1:1 effect. CBD Painkiller XL (9% / 9%) or CBD Sour Kush (11% / 11%). You will feel these.
- You want the biggest harvest. CBD Harlequin at 650 to 700 g/m² indoors, finishing in 55 to 65 days.
- You are growing outdoors in Quebec. CBD Harlequin finishes mid-October and CBD AC/DC late September to early October, which is the difference between harvesting and losing a crop to frost in zone 4.
What CBD:THC ratio actually means
The ratio matters more than either number on its own. A strain at 15% CBD and 1% THC behaves nothing like one at 11% CBD and 11% THC, even though both are called "high CBD".
- Above 10:1 CBD to THC — Charlotte's Web, CBD Zero, AC/DC. Non-intoxicating in practice for most people.
- Roughly 2:1 — CBD Cannatonic at 12% CBD to 6% THC. A noticeable but mild effect.
- Roughly 1:1 — Painkiller XL, Sour Kush, Northern Lights CBD. Clearly psychoactive, just less sharp than a THC-dominant strain.
CBD is generally described as non-intoxicating, but a 1:1 strain still contains real THC. If that matters to you, read the ratio and not the label.
Growing high-CBD seeds in Canada
High-CBD strains grow like any other cannabis plant. The thing that catches Canadian growers out is the calendar, not the cannabinoid.
- Outdoor finish dates matter most. CBD AC/DC is ready late September to early October; Charlotte's Web runs early to late October; Harlequin lands mid-October. In zones 4 and 5 the later finishers need a sheltered spot or a plan to finish under cover.
- Several of these are sativa-leaning — Harlequin and Mango Haze are 80% sativa. Expect taller plants and longer stretch after the flip than an indica.
- Feminized seeds save you the guesswork. Every CBD line we carry is feminized, so you are not pulling males out halfway through.
- Humidity discipline still applies. Dense CBD flower moulds as readily as any other.
